Mina Starsiak Hawk has started a new project separate from her mother in New Bones: New Beginnings.

Good Bones stars Karen E. Laine and Mina Starsiak Hawk, a mother-daughter duo who renovate and deal in properties around their hometown of Indianapolis. In the season 9 premiere, Mina purchases a house worth $700K.

After eight successful seasons, Good Bones is back in business, premiering on August 14, 2024, on HGTV.

However, Karen was absent in the season 9 premiere due to tension among the mother-daughter duo. In October 2023, talking to People, Mina revealed that it’d been a long time since she talked to her mom.

Though they have worked together for years, as shown on HGTV, there were frequent arguments behind the stage between Mina and her mom and brother, Ted Starsiak.

Despite the dissatisfaction, the two may reunite and lead separate projects in the upcoming episodes.

Mina Thinks Lake House Will Help Heal Her Husband

As Mina and Steve Haw live in Indianapolis with their children Jack and Charlie, she thinks Indian Lake House will be a good getaway for her family.

According to her, Steve has suffered a lot over the past few years, losing his three family members.

His mother passed away from stomach cancer in 2018, and his father departed, falling down the stairs six months later.

Steve’s pain was not over yet; his sister, Stefanie, also left the world in 2020. So, shifting was tough for Steve, holding an album of memories of the dear ones in the old house.

However, Mina’s store, District Co., failed, and she needed a rewind start along with her husband in their lives.

Meanwhile, Mina’s friends, Good Bones vets MJ Coyle and Austin Aynes, decided to help her reform the Lakehouse.

While this may seem like a new beginning for Good Bones, Mina had to shut down Two Chicks and a Hammer’s headquarters and use the money to renovate her new house.

But she learned that the check received after selling her space was nothing but fraudulent, needing only find another buyer or renter.
