Bad Boys: Ride or Die Review
Bad Boys: Ride or Die was released on June 7, 2024, under the fourth installment of the movie franchise Bad Boys.
It is an American action comedy movie or buddy cop comedy-action movie that traps you into Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s camaraderie.
When you enter the movie, you will be taken into the land of Miami to witness detectives Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) solving another challenging case.
They learn about the corruption of the Miami Police Department and their late captain, who accused them of getting involved in drug cartels.
The installment Ride or Die begins with the wedding scene of Mike and Christine (Melanie Liburd), which causes Marcus a heart attack but recovers with his wit and humor.
As he believes that he can’t die without reason, his dance creates a comedy scene in the midst of turmoil.
The duo has to raise their eyebrows and get more action when they learn their friend, Captain Howard (Joe Pantoliano), is being killed and charged with money laundering.
Determined to find the truth, they team up with Mike’s imprisoned son, Armando (Jacob Scipio). Besides the police, now the Miami gangsters go after them for a five-million-dollar bounty announced for getting them departed or alive.
Is Bad Boys: Ride or Die Worthwhile to watch?
Bad Boys 4 marks Will Smith’s return to the cinema after an unforgettable incident at the 2022 Academy Awards. The movie has provided him with a chance to showcase his talent again through his emotion, comedy, and action.
The role really fits him in re-establishing his dignity and connecting with his fans after many action comedy movies.
However, Martin Lawrence seems to be stealing the show in the movie with goofiness and zany dialogues.
Overall, both actors have proven their on-screen camaraderie since they first appeared as buddy detectives 20 years ago, and they are still energetic enough to perform the same energy now.
Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah narrate the plot deftly, turning Miami’s finest guys into the most wanted men. Though the audience cannot find each scene nail-biting, they get nostalgia for the genre.
Also, many gags do not work, but there is comfort in familiarity when viewers want some scenes to be repeated. Besides, it also is noticed that aging stars with cop comedy dialogues still bang with their energy.
So, if you are a fan of cop comedy movies, it won’t waste your money once you go to the theater. That’s why Bad Boys: Ride or Die at least once deserves a show.
