Hiram Kasten was an American actor and comedian known for the sitcoms Seinfeld and Saved by the Bell. He passed aeway on June 16, 2024, at the age of 71.
Born 1952 in New York, Hiram Kasten served the TV industry in different roles for 39 years.

Hiram Kasten started his career as a stand-up comedian in 1978. He auditioned at The Comic Strip, and Jerry Seinfeld passed him, from where Jerry and Hiram developed a friendship.
When residing in New York, Hiram Kasten worked as an emcee at Dangerfield and performed in several clubs, including the Improv, the Comedy Cellar, and Caroline’s.
Later, Kasten moved to the West and started his acting career. When Larry David met him, he offered him roles in Seinfeld (1989), Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000), and Sour Grapes (1998).
Kasten also appeared on other TV shows, such as Everybody Loves Raymond, Mad About You, Saved by the Bell, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Besides, Kasten continued appearing on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, My Wife and Kids, and 7th Heaven in the early 2000s.
Hiram Kasten felt his health was declining with his growing age, so he retired from the entertainment industry in 2017. But he didn’t tell the circle of his friends and relatives about his bad health until the last six months before his end.

Kasten’s wife Diana Kisiel reported that he passed away at their own home in Batavia, New York, a few hours after their 38th anniversary.

Katen’s great comedy and artistic community rallied to his side, as “some made trips to Batavia to visit him, late night Zoom meetings with friends on both coasts ensued and went into the wee hours of the morning. It prolonged his life for at least another two months to be able to laugh with his peers.
The survivors include a wife, Diana Kisiel, and a daughter, Millicent Jade Kastenbaum.
